🌳 Madárbarát facsemeték – Élőhelyteremtés a biodiverzitásért 🐦🦋
Az elmúlt hetekben izgalmas lépéseket tettünk a „Madárbarát facsemeték” projekt megvalósítása felé! 💚 A Roots & Shoots program révén mi is részesei lehettünk egy pozitív változásnak. 🙌
A célunk az volt, hogy olyan fákat ültessünk, amelyek nemcsak árnyékot adnak, hanem otthont és táplálékot is biztosítanak a madaraknak, rovaroknak és más élőlényeknek. 🌱
A projekt előkészítése során felfedező sétát szerveztünk Litke községben, ahol feltérképeztük a zöldterületek hiányát és a fejlesztési lehetőségeket. Terveinket egy áttekintő térképen is megjelenítettük. 🗺️
Ültettünk:
1️⃣ Kislevelű hársat (Tilia cordata) – 🌸 virágai rengeteg méhet, lepkét és más beporzót vonzanak, lombkoronája pedig menedéket ad a madaraknak. 🐝🐦
2️⃣ Korai juhart (Acer platanoides) – 🌼 tavasszal korai nektárforrást kínál a rovaroknak, magjai pedig finom falatot jelentenek a pintyeknek és más magevőknek. 🐦
3️⃣ Fekete nyárfát (Populus nigra) – 🌳 gyors növekedésével árnyékot és élőhelyet ad számos rovarnak és madárnak. 🦋
4️⃣ Csertölgyet (Quercus cerris) – 🌰 makkjaival ellátja a mókusokat és madarakat, gazdag élővilága pedig sok más fajt is vonz. 🐞🐿️
Minden fa mellé kis információs tábla került, amely bemutatja, milyen élőlények számára hasznos az a fa. 📖
A projekt nemcsak zöldíti a környezetet, hanem a helyi ökoszisztémát is erősíti, és oktatási célt is szolgál. 👧🧒🌿

🌳 Bird-Friendly Saplings – Creating Habitats for Biodiversity 🐦🦋
Over the past few weeks, we’ve taken exciting steps toward realizing our “Bird-Friendly Saplings” project! 💚 Through the Roots & Shoots program, we’ve had the chance to be part of a positive environmental change. 🙌
Our goal was to plant trees that not only provide shade but also offer food and shelter for birds, insects, and other living creatures. 🌱
As part of the project’s preparation, we organized an exploratory walk in the village of Litke, where we mapped areas lacking greenery and identified development opportunities. We also presented our plans on a summary map. 🗺️
We planted:
1️⃣ Small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata) – 🌸 Its flowers attract countless bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, while its canopy offers shelter for birds. 🐝🐦
2️⃣ Norway maple (Acer platanoides) – 🌼 Provides an early source of nectar for insects in spring, and its seeds are a treat for finches and other seed-eating birds. 🐦
3️⃣ Black poplar (Populus nigra) – 🌳 With its fast growth, it offers shade and habitat for many insects and birds. 🦋
4️⃣ Turkey oak (Quercus cerris) – 🌰 Its acorns feed squirrels and birds, and the rich life around it attracts many other species. 🐞🐿️
Each tree was accompanied by a small information board describing which species benefit from it. 📖
The project not only helps green the environment but also strengthens the local ecosystem and serves an educational purpose. 👧🧒🌿

🥊 Bokszedzés a Tanodában! 💪👊
A héten két önkéntesünk tartott izgalmas boksz edzést a Tanodában! 🙌
Az alkalom alapos bemelegítéssel indult 🤸♂️, majd a gyerekek megtanulták a helyes testtartást és az alap ütéseket – a stabil lábtartástól kezdve a pontos kézmozdulatokig. 💥 Ezután jöhetett a legizgalmasabb rész: a bokszzsák! 🥊 Itt mindenki kipróbálhatta, milyen erő és fegyelem rejlik ebben a sportban. ⚡
Egy bokszedzés lépései:
1️⃣ Bemelegítés – hogy az izmok és ízületek felkészüljenek.
2️⃣ Technikai gyakorlás – testtartás, egyensúly, mozdulatok.
3️⃣ Ütések és kombinációk gyakorlása.
4️⃣ Edzés a bokszzsákon – erő, ritmus és kitartás fejlesztése.
5️⃣ Levezetés és nyújtás – a regenerálódásért. 🌿
A gyerekek nagyon élvezték az edzést, és már alig várják a következő alkalmat! 😍👏
Köszönjük szépen Oláh Máténak és Oláh Eriknek a szakszerű, mégis gyerekekhez illően játékos edzést! 🥰 Ti vagytok az élő példák arra, hogy a sport fejleszti nemcsak a testet, hanem az önbizalmat és a kitartást is! 💪🌟

🥊 Boxing Training at the Tanoda! 💪👊
This week, two of our amazing volunteers led an exciting boxing session at the Tanoda! 🙌
The class began with a thorough warm-up 🤸♂️, followed by practicing proper posture and basic punches – from stable footwork to precise hand movements. 💥 Then came the most exciting part: the punching bag! 🥊 Everyone got to experience the strength, discipline, and focus this sport requires. ⚡
Steps of a boxing training session:
1️⃣ Warm-up – to prepare the muscles and joints.
2️⃣ Technical practice – posture, balance, and movement.
3️⃣ Punch and combination drills.
4️⃣ Punching bag training – building strength, rhythm, and endurance.
5️⃣ Cool down and stretching – for proper recovery. 🌿
The kids absolutely loved the session and are already looking forward to the next one! 😍👏
A huge thank-you to Oláh Máté and Oláh Erik for leading such a professional yet playful, child-centered training! 🥰 You are true examples of how sports can build not only physical strength but also confidence and perseverance! 💪🌟

📖 Together with the children, we recalled the story of the 13 heroic generals who sacrificed their lives for freedom on October 6, 1849. 🤝 We learned that courage, perseverance, and love for one’s country are values that still guide us today.
🙏 Let us remember them with respect and gratitude!

About Us
We run an Afterschool Program (Tanoda) in Litke, Nógrád County Hungary, where we offer educational and recreational opportunities for socio-economically disadvantaged Roma children. We organize computer courses, arts and crafts, a drama club, group study projects and many other sports and study activities with the leadership of Bandi Oláh, a beloved local community member who lives with a disability.
Join the Team
Regardless of background or education, we welcome everyone to join our diverse team. There are many different ways you can help and participate in our work (program organization, working with children, administration, fundraising, etc.). Your volunteering experience may contribute to your professional development. We look forward to your application!
Transparency
We rely mostly on crowdfunding support and on small grants. The funding is used for the salary of employees, including András Oláh, and for the Tanoda programs, community programs and a summer camp.
